POWER is about WILL.
Those with Power (formerly Queen/King) are willful and fearless; they create new paradigms and delegate to bring them into existence. People who aren’t intimidated by them are attracted to their charismatic presence. Those with Power have big goals; they are ambitious and insist on determining and following their own plans. They easily identify the best people and resources needed for any project and are triggered by incompetence. Power can be domineering, overpowering, and coercive, and when more mature, they discern whom to trust and orchestrate large projects by respecting other people and sharing power.
The Lessons of the Power Talent are shown below:
In Lessons 1 & 2, those with the Power Talent are grandiose and intimidating dictators. They use destruction to gain a version of respect; this keeps others around them in fear. They use force to overrun people. They can be tyrannical empire builders. They are always looking out for what they want. Sometimes it is explicit and obvious, and other times this is their hidden agenda, and they do what they want behind your back. They know they are better than others (others would see this as “believe” but not those with Power) and look down at other people in disdain. The Power Talent is rare, so fortunately there are not many people like this. At this stage, the ways they cruelly treat people often keep their forces from growing and sustaining.
In Lessons 3 & 4, those with Power explore how they can build collaboratively with others. They are realizing that by treating their people better, better people are attracted to work with them. They see from a 10,000-foot level, recognizing how all the components (structures, resources, people) come together to make big things happen. They naturally recognize others’ strategies and use this to their advantage. They easily orchestrate all the pieces needed to accomplish a grand purpose, delegating to their team. These people with Power tend to stay out of the spotlight, so you might not notice them. Without asking, they’re able to will people into doing what they want. They demand integrity, not in an emotional sense, but in absolute follow through on one’s word – if they can’t count on you, you are useless to them.
In Lesson 4, those with Power see even larger scale opportunities, putting their attention on the most worthy people and projects. They implement new paradigms in ways that are beneficial to others as well as themselves. They’re noble, gently knowing their own capacity. The greatest people are drawn to work with them. They truly share opportunities and their power with those who meet their high standards. They innately know just how much to trust people, knowing how much they can each hold at every moment. They steer everything and everyone into the right place at the right moment for maximum impact.
